Medical Marijuana Patient Protection Act Submitted In Congress

Tuesday, April 22nd, 2008

Finally, what we were all waiting for! Barney Frank finally introduced the Medical Marijuana Patient protection act bill to congress on the 17th. Basically It will reclassify marijuana from its current position of Schedule I to Schedule II. Which means, Medical marijuana patients will be protected, and no federal involvement in state or local medical marijuana programs!

There is a summery of the article taken from Safeaccessnow.org

Washington, D.C. – Congressional Representative Barney Frank (D-MA) introduced the “Medical Marijuana Patient Protection Act,” HR 5842, yesterday, a bill co-sponsored by Representatives Maurice Hinchey (D-NY), Sam Farr (D-CA), Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA), and Ron Paul (R-TX). The act would change federal policy on medical marijuana in a number of ways. Specifically, HR 5842 would reclassify marijuana from a Schedule I drug, which cannot be prescribed, to a Schedule II drug, which would recognize the medical value of marijuana and create a regulatory framework for the FDA to begin a drug approval process for marijuana. The act would also prevent interference by the federal government in any local or state run medical marijuana program. Read Here

Alabama Considers Medical Marijuana; NEW BILL!

Friday, April 18th, 2008

Alabama’s medical marijuana bill, known as the Michael Phillips Compassionate Care Act has finally been assigned a number for this legislative session.HB679 has been assigned to the judiciary committee again this year and is currently pending committee action in the house of origin.

House Bill 679 will help to ensure that medical marijuana patients in Alabama will no longer have to fear arrest or prosecution from state law enforcement. As introduced, this act would allow qualified patients under a physician’s supervision to possess up to 12 cannabis plants and/or 2.5 ounces of medical marijuana for therapeutic purposes.  However, this proposal will only receive serious consideration if your elected officials hear an unmistakable message of support from their constituents.

The legislature is in recess next week for spring break so this bill won’t come up until at least week after next.

Currently, twelve states — Alaska, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Maine, Montana, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington — have enacted laws protecting medical marijuana patients from state prosecution. Patients in these twelve states enjoy legal protections to use medicinal marijuana under a doctor’s supervision; seriously ill citizens in Alabama deserve this same protection.

Sensi Star

Sunday, April 13th, 2008

Sensi Star is a very powerful indica, the bud is a contrast of light and dark green, with light and darker brownish hairs. It is very dense, compact with good coat of trichomes. After opening the container, a burst of fresh lemon zest, and out of the bag the bud smelled very rich and earthy. The smoke was on the harsh side, with a sour after taste. After a toke, I was in a more compact, and simple world, with a powerful head high, that puts you in a more comfortable or more relaxed state that does not couch-lock. The high is almost euphoric, things seemed much more alive, and vibrant when i stepped outside. Patients who would benefit from this strain the most are those with glaucoma, migraines, headaches, and anxiety problems.

Bong Ban In AU Might Influence The US To Follow

Friday, April 11th, 2008

In South Australia, The government has thought of a way to stop the cannabis smokers and all other drug users. This method that was accepted and made law to ban all bongs will actually do more harm then good. The Rann Government’s ban on bongs will not stop drug use and could have dangerous flow-on effects on the health of pot smokers, according to users and experts.  It’s just sad to see more restrictions on the Marijuana community.

In the United States it was brought up to ban the sale of bongs as well. Hopfully this law doesn’t influence the federal government to Ban bongs over here as well. It will be hard as some people really do need it as a way to take their medication.

One local drug expert, pharmacology associate professor Rodney Irvine, said users will seek other ways to inhale smoke and that could be more dangerous.

Here is a great video by Kirk Tousaw about the true suppliers of Marijuana to the US. Many great facts about how much marijuana is actually being smuggled into the US by both Canada and Mexico. Also many controversial documents that the usdog.gov (Drug traffic operations & seized drugs) has published.

Legal Ease with Kirk Tousaw is his program and this is his newst episode.

Michigan Medical Marijuana Act

Saturday, April 5th, 2008

With the initiative known as the Michigan Medical Marijuana Act, being sponsored by the Michigan Coalition for compassionate Care (MCCC), the act was passed to legislature, if the legislature does not act upon it, it will go to the voters in November. With more then a 2 to 1 ratio in which the people voted YES for medical use of marijuana, the act will surely pass in November. Michigan will be the first mid-west state to approve of medical marijuana, and the second largest state with 10 million residents. The act will:

-Allow Seriously ill patients to use medical marijuana with their Doctors approval.
-Protect those seriously ill patients from being arrested for their medicine.
-Allow Patients, and caregivers to cultivate marijuana for medical use with a limit on how much can grow.
-Create medical marijuana cards, so that patients can easily be identified by law enforcement.
-Allow those who are arrested for marijuana to discuss their medical use for it.
-Continuing certain prohibitions for medical use of marijuana as, public use of marijuana and driving under the influence of marijuana.

Even though this act will only allow those with serious illness’s to have medical marijuana for medicine, I still agree that this bill is a big step not only for the marijuana community, but also for the future economic status of the US. Having many uses and applications, if marijuana is legalized, it can then be taxed, even though the progress might be very small, it is still progress towards a debt free America.

Drug War Is Called An “Abject Failure”

Saturday, April 5th, 2008

People are much stronger today, the media doesn’t dominate like it did years back. People today are now coming out and speaking the truth, without fear. Nothing can overpower freewill. This past decade has been the biggest movement for anti-drug prohibition ever recorded in the united states. The public is now realizing the truth. Tax payer’s money is not going to what the public really needs. This war is not on drugs anymore, its on the people. Government trust is fading, as nothing the government has done today has helped the public of the serious issues, Our health care, economic downfall due to wasteful spending, gas prices; this list can go on.

People now seek for the truth and now they don’t go for the government. Today, information can be found easily which was not available years ago. The Internet is a powerful tool. This allows a person to believe what they want to believe instead of being fed the facts by the media. This Drug war has been the biggest waste of the United States with the most failure ever documented. Now we all are realizing; the brainwashing and false advertising of Marijuana to be “dangerous and deadly” in America is fading.

Soon, there will be commercials of Marijuana Healing, instead of bashing. The “War On Drugs” is a failure. How many news articles, internet blogs, speeches, events, rallys and anything speaking the truth of this does it take to convince the federal government of the truth?  Norm Stamper former cheif of the Seatle Police Department, at Western Washing University he speaks in an event at the school’s Drug Information center: (more…)

Cheap And Easy DIY Aeroponics–Less than 30 mins!

Friday, April 4th, 2008

Here is a great helpful article that can help the community of growers. Aeroponics!

So far, from a lot of research and personal experience, Aeroponics has proved its worth! Aeroponics is quite different, It uses the same aspects as DWC ( Deep Water Culture). This is actually so much more easier to take care of, No more soil and slow growth! Get prepared for amazing results when using Aeroponics.

Aeroponcis is the process of growing plants in air or mist environment without the use of soil or an aggregate medium. Aeroponic culture differs from both hydroponics and in-vitro (Plant tissue culture) growing. Unlike hydroponics, which uses water as a growing medium and essential minerals to sustain plant growth, aeroponics is conducted without a growing medium, but just an anchor medium such as Hydrotons(clay pebbles) This allows a lot of root growth and FAST plant growth. The speed compared to soil growing is amazing. (more…)

MK-Ultra

Thursday, April 3rd, 2008

This strain is crossed with O.G Kush and G-13, two potent strains make this a heavy hitting indica. The buds are very tight and compact, light green with a heavy coating of crystals all over the bud. It has light amber to brown hairs bursting out of the bud. The calyxes are shaped beautifully with each one looking like a well crafted mini vase. It smelled and tasted like fresh herbs and spices with a very small trail of citrus in the back of the throat. The smoke was harsh and if you have weak lungs I recommend you don’t take a massive hit or else you’ll be coughing your brains out. Like I said this ones a heavy hitter, it has a numbing hypnotic high that had me locked to the couch for a good hour. The come down was slow and heavy, great for any patient who is looking for a strain to just relax the whole body. Overall it was outstanding and make sure you don’t have anything planned before you start toking on this one.
