Marijuana Vending Machines

Saturday, March 15th, 2008

A vending machine for medical marijuana patients, here to stay or will it die? Will this be the help we need to push for the medical marijuana movement?

A new vending machine product is now available in California: medical marijuana. However, according to the January 29, 2008 Los Angeles Daily News (“Marijuana machines could be cure for inconvenience”)’Not just anyone can pop some coins in and get some bud. The machine, developed by Los Angeles medical-marijuana dispensary owner Vincent Mehdizadeh, gives up to an ounce of pot per week only to preapproved patients. The specialized machine installed Monday at Herbal Nutrition Center - a medical-marijuana dispensary on La Cienega Boulevard - requires fingerprint identification as well as a special prepaid card.”

The article states, “Mehdizadeh’s machine is far from the standard potato-chip model. The black, armored box is bolted to the floor at the entrance to the dispensary. It has a card swiper, a video camera that also takes a snapshot of any user and adds it to a database, and is protected by armed security guards.Mehdizadeh said he has been trying to reach out to City Council members and persuade them that the machine is a key way to regulate the industry because it includes an automatic database. Mehdizadeh said the machines also could allow dispensaries to sell pot at lower prices because of reduced overhead costs.”

“But even some of the most devoted defenders of medical marijuana question the idea of pot vending machines. ‘This is bittersweet in that it shows great entrepreneurship - but opens up terrific avenues of ridicule,’ said Allen St. Pierre, executive director of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws. St. Pierre said that whatever happens, Mehdizadeh’s machine will likely be a milestone in the medical-marijuana movement.’Of the little benchmarks over a 15-year period, this machine will probably be one of them,’ he said. ‘Whether they continue to exist or not.”

Dank Brownie

Saturday, March 15th, 2008

 This edible is great…by tfs

This brownie doesn’t stray far from its dank name. It packs a powerful punch that starts to take effect fairly quickly (for an edible) and lasts for several hours. Again, this ranges from person to person, based on his or her size/weight and the amount of food in the stomach at the time of digestion. In my personal case, it lasted for almost four hours. The smell doesn’t signal any potency within. Unfortunately, when eating this little delectable, it doesn’t provide the best chocolate flavor… largely due to the sizable amounts of marijuana mixed in (which you will definitely notice). Just wash it down with a glass of milk and you’ll be good to go. By Chefboyarweed

One thing I wish was on the packaging was the amount of bud used in the recipe and also the strain type. Still, it is well worth it. Overall, a great edible that doesn’t break your wallet and leave you asking, “That’s it?”

If it works for you as it did for me, you’ll be looking to increase your brownie budget.

Marijuana Dealers Offer Schwarzenegger One Billion Dollars

Friday, March 14th, 2008

A group of growers in California Unite and collect one billion dollars to Shwarzengger to help pay the state’s deficet!!! MARIJUANA GROWERS ARE HELPING OUR STATE… YES.. This should prove to the nation how much PROFIT and TAX can be collected by legalizing Marijuana. Isn’t this enough proof?

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: August 6, 2007
Contact: Clifford Schaffer, tel: 661-268-0442, e-mail: info@letuspaytaxes.com

Marijuana Dealers Offer Schwarzenegger One Billion Dollars

August 6 — A coalition of California marijuana growers and dealers has offered Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger one billion dollars to solve the current state budget crisis. The group, calling itself Let Us Pay Taxes makes the offer through its web site LetUsPayTaxes.com. The offer comes at a time when the California legislature is deadlocked on a new budget and California has stopped issuing checks for vitally needed social services. Legislators are currently arguing over which programs will be cut in order to balance the budget.

“It is ridiculous that California can’t pay its bills,” said spokesman Clifford Schaffer. “It is a tragedy that they will cut badly needed services and programs such as medical care for the elderly and prison drug treatment when the money to fund all these programs and more is there and available. Everyone who is currently waiting for a check from the state should be enraged at this foolishness.”

Regulation and taxation of marijuana could produce six billion dollars in additional tax revenue, according to economic studies linked from their web site LetUsPayTaxes.com. In addition, it could save up to ten billion dollars in enforcement costs. “That is a conservative estimate,” said Schaffer. “By other estimates, the revenues could be five times that. The economists are with us all the way on this one. Marijuana prohibition is an economic disaster.”

“Let’s face reality,” Schaffer says. “Marijuana legalization is inevitable. The situation is already beyond control in California. The state and local authorities have offered safe harbor for medical marijuana use and the Federal Government simply doesn’t have the resources for effective control.” More importantly, says Schaffer, the operators of the medical marijuana clubs are no longer afraid of the Federal Government. “If you talk to them, you will find that they know they are going to win this battle. They know that the DEA is vastly outnumbered and can’t begin to prosecute all of them. The few that are prosecuted are accepting their fate as martyrs because they know that what they are doing is right. They are willing to sacrifice themselves to make the point that the Federal Government has just gone too far in interfering with very personal and private decisions. There is no way the DEA is going to win this battle. At this point, it is all over but the counting of the money – and the victims of the DEA.”

Schaffer went on to say that the national market for marijuana has been estimated from a low of ten billion dollars per year to more than fifty billion dollars per year. “The first states to regulate and tax marijuana will receive an economic bonanza bigger than the original California Gold Rush,” says Schaffer. “Some states will get rich like the Saudis.” Schaffer predicts that it will not take long for some local areas to wake up to the economic possibilities. “We are talking potentially big bucks here,” he said. “The Canadians are already starting to take note of a cannabis-fueled economic boom in some areas. Politicians can’t resist fresh cash, especially when it is coming to their local community. There will be big winners and losers here. The winners will be the ones who recognize the foregone conclusion first.”

The group also cites foreign terrorism as a reason to regulate and tax marijuana. “Drug Czar John Walters is being dishonest when he says that marijuana money goes to criminals and terrorists. The only reason any of that money goes to criminals or terrorists is because of the prohibition that Walters supports,” said Schaffer. “Marijuana prohibition makes criminals rich just like alcohol prohibition did. The criminals are now so rich and powerful that they can challenge the legitimate governments of their own countries. There is no reason to send billions of dollars per year to foreign criminal gangs when patriotic Americans make the best products in the world. There is no reason to suffer such a huge foreign trade deficit when that money could be providing jobs and funding badly needed services right here in the USA.”

Let Us Pay Taxes calls upon all US citizens to sign their petition at their web site http://LetUsPayTaxes.com and press the issue with their lawmakers. “Take the money, please,” said Schaffer. “These people want to contribute. Now it is up to our politicians to tell us why they want to send those billions to foreign criminal gangs rather than to their own voters.”

Alabama to be the 13th state for Medical Marijuana?

Friday, March 14th, 2008

Could Alabama be the 13Th state to accept Medical Marijuana? hopefully! Soon, we will be on the 50Th state to allow Medical Marijuana. Hopefully this day comes. The whole world really does need a reality check on Medical Marijuana. In what part or form does Drug have anything to do with Marijuana? Really, It grows from soil, and we do not alter it in any form or way. Just like the fruits we eat, and the carrots we use for soup.

ALABAMA: Legislation seeking to make Alabama the thirteenth state to allow for the legal medical use of cannabis was introduced this week and referred to the House Judiciary Committee. If enacted, House Bill 679 (aka The Michael PhillipsCompassionate Care Act) would allow patients with a doctor’s recommendation to grow up to 12 plants or possess up to 2.5 ounces of therapeutic cannabis. To get involved in supporting this bill, please visit NORML’s Take Action Center here.

More Ridiculous “studies”: Oral sex + Weed = Cancer???

Friday, March 14th, 2008

Another very stupid supposed “study”. I wonder who requests these studies. I think that the media is trying to target the sexually active group so that maybe they can stop smoking. This is just ridiculous, how can someone even come up with the idea of this. “Hey guys I had a thought, lets get a bunch of people, give them some marijuana and let them have “fun” ”
I’m sorry, its just the stupidity of this is getting to me.  What do you guys think? Want to sacrafice some Marijuana? or do you think this story is totally bogus.

Smoking marijuana and having oral sex increases the risk of developing throat cancer according to the new study conducted by Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center.

Throat cancer can be of 2 types: head and neck cancers, biologically similar cancers originating from the upper aerodigestive tract, including the lip, oral cavity (mouth), nasal cavity, paranasal sinuses, pharynx, and larynx. Head and neck cancers often spread to the lymph nodes of the neck, and this is often the first (and sometimes only) manifestation of the disease at the time of diagnosis.

Head and neck cancer is strongly associated with certain environmental and lifestyle risk factors, including tobacco smoking, alcohol consumption, and certain strains of the sexually transmitted human papillomavirus (HPV).

The researchers found the definite connection of the named factors, stating that the risk of throat cancer grows as the number of oral sex partners as well as the usage of marijuana increase.

It’s quite clear that oral sex is closely tied with throat cancer, as HPV is typically transmitted through sexual contact, but how can marijuana influence the risk factors? The answer is quite simple – it has an impact on the immune system’s ability to fight against a virus (the same with alcohol).

More than 35,000 people (most common among younger, married college graduates) are diagnosed with head and neck cancer annually in the United States alone. Head and neck cancer is highly curable if detected early, most often through a combination of chemotherapy and radiation therapy, although surgery may also play an important role.

The advice is - don’t forget about your hygiene and think once more before trying marijuana.

Cheese

Thursday, March 13th, 2008

Cheese, the name says it all, literally it smells and tastes like cheese. It kind of reminds me of the days in grade school when i would pop open some good ol’ cheese Cheetos. The taste is kind of like a fusion of fresh cheese and Marijuana, thus very pleasant. The smoke was very smooth, not hard at all, allowing a massive hits! Cheese is a light green color, (I’m still talking about the weed) with compacted buds, its not brittle at all. With a moderate amount of pistils and trichomes. This Strain is very fun, definitely when your out with friends. The high creeps up on you through your face down to your neck area. non-stop laughs and surly is going to be hard to take that smile off your face. Definitely brings up your appetite almost instantly. Great for people suffering eating disorders. Also can help with depression issues, the high is very happy/uplifting type.

-Good for apatite
-Could help with depression.
-THC Content: Mild 10-15%

Cost of Anti-Marijuana Ad’s vs School Funding?

Thursday, March 13th, 2008

Here is the video I find so stupid.

You know those ad’s on TV, goes something like “please, don’t let your friends smoke weed, because they really become your enemy” something really ridiculous like that.  Or the really stupid one with the dog… and the cell shaded animation, with the dog being disappointed with the owner for smoking weed. C’mon, here is what we all should be disappointed in –These anti marijuana ad’s only cost taxpayers $1,400,000,000 since 1998. The study of the ad campaign cost $47,000,000.  Talk about wasteful spending… Guess how much America spends on schools at the same rate? not even 1/8 of this money. This is just sad. Instead of spending all this money on USELESS Ad’s that NO ONE watches anyway, we could be spending it on books, new tables, new teachers, lessons, you name it! I am just so pissed off. I see these commercials every single time i watch a show on comedy central or even to watch the Simpson’s.  Why does the American government want to sway everybody away from Marijuana? our founding fathers, George Washington and even Thomas Jefferson grew HEMP (marijuana). If you guys read my little story I wrote, you will be enlightened with the truth! Read here! It has been proven already that Marijuana heals.  Even the the most respected community of doctors support  and push the legalization of marijuana.

Here is a quote from Hilary Black of the British Columbia Compassion Society, provided by CannabisNI in the
Pro Marjuana Coalition, (
check out our forums! ):

“Indica and Sativa are the two main varieties of the cannabis plant used as medicine. There are many strains that are crosses of those two varieties. Within each of those varieties and crosses there are a huge number of individual strains, each with a different cannabinoid profile and effect. According to anecdotal evidence, the Indica strains are a relaxant, effective for anxiety, pain, nausea, appetite stimulation, sleep, muscle spasms and tremors, among other symptoms. The Sativa strains are more of a stimulant, effective in appetite stimulation, relieving depression, migraines, pain and nausea. We are now aware of specific strains that are effective for specific conditions and symptoms.”
